Why not, in simple terms, make it like a lottery system?

Each vote you get a random item (minus water buckets, end portals, ice, and flint and steal sort of things) from all the items available on minecraft. That way you get a 1/127 chance (yes I counted) of getting something a bit rarer with each vote. That way you can also boost voting a bit better, too.

I think the fact of getting diamonds when people vote are good. However, you could give people
three Diamonds and say 200 Dollars? Perhaps that bundle would persuade people more?
And the user gets 10 Exp?

That lottery idea seems rad! But you should maybe get the random item alongside the original single diamond?

Well, I think that the diamonds you get from voting are different from the diamonds you get from mining ore. The diamonds you get from voting can only be used to craft, while you can sell the diamonds you can get from ores...

only saying this 'cause I have tons of diamonds I need to sell, sorry if it's a dumb idea xD

Just a little update, I have added a plugin called GAListener which provides a lot more features when it comes to voting.
Right now, you'll still only get 1 diamond, but the plugin allows 'lucky votes' which gives you a random chance to receive something extra (like some of you have suggested)

The plugin is supposed to allow you to vote offline and reward you next time you're online, but that seems to be broken right now, but I'm working on it.

 I really like the Idea where you get donation money from voting, BUT it should be something kind of low, like, say, 20p in donation money every time you vote, so that players cannot immediately get a ton of cash

Is it possible to incorporate a second form of currency?  like tokens.  the more you vote the more tokens you get.  these tokens can then be used in another store which would have these special items.  I'm talkin like spawn eggs, diamond blocks, sponges, and yes. beacons.
