1. Imagine I give a player(player A) access to open the door to my house, and he does not grief anything. However, he does let someone else in who griefs my house(player B). Is player A also eligible for a ban?

2. While any mod other than Optifine is disallowed, is it OK to use McPatcher for HD resource packs?

1. No player A is not eligible for a ban unless they knew the person would grief but you need proof that they knew the person was going to grief and intentionally let them in.
2. Mcpatcher is no longer needed as of 1.6 as support for HD resource packs was added to install them open your .Minecraft folder and place the unzipped resource pack in the folder named resource packs.
