Suggestions / Shop Overhaul
« on: February 16, 2017, 09:30:41 pm »
I'm going to try keep this on topic and not have it a rant. These are just suggestions and my point of view.

I think having a functioning economy on the server expands what the players can do and gives them another objective to work towards.

The economy is currently fully controlled by Gold and Iron Ore. As it stands, A stack of Iron ore (which takes 20 minutes or less to obtain) Is worth $6400. The next best way of making some sort of an income or profit (if you don't have a guardian farm) is agriculture. More specifically Sugarcane. In optimal conditions it takes just over 18 minutes to fully grow. To get the same return as a stack of iron, You need to sell 34100 sugarcane or carrots, wheat etc. I would presume this shows the imbalance currently in the shops.

I have a few ideas on how to change this to expand on the economy and have more players interact with the shops and each other.

1. Editing the shop on intervals, anywhere from a month to 3 months (by season?).

Expanding on that. I think for example, next month Ores could get a Large nerf and something else could get a buff such as alchemy, rare fishing (salmon, puffers), Mob drops, different woods/stones, agriculture, flowers and so on. This way every so on a new set of items becomes more valuable to sell, this can encourage players to start farming such and such an item or adventure to get something or trade with others on the server promoting player interaction.

2. I can picture somebody saying "and who's going to edit it every month", that's too much work or something along the lines of that. Well I would happily do it, So there's that.

3. Smaller work could be worth more, base items like cobble wood etc. Bring back lumberjack.

I also think deleting the shops/economy would be a poor, But leaving it as is, isn't great either.

Always open to discuss and help,
Post your opinions below.

General Discussion / Staff Goofing Off!

The DKCraft Security cameras Picked up what seem to be some of the Moderators goofing off at a strip club instead of tending to moderator duties. Swift action will pursue.

(Had to be a link because for some reason can only upload 128kb q_q)

Why you should become a moderator:

As an active player from Europe I am usually online when the American Moderators and other staff members are offline as it is midnight and early morning for them. When the Europeans are online there are usually no moderators online , This opens a window for problems as this can cause inconvenience to players who need water placed and other such requirements  , I often notice the staff getting bombarded with requests and complaints and would handle them with care ensuring each and every problem is seen to ensuring all players an enjoyable experience.

Yours faithfully Matt.

Suggestions / Nether Fortress and nametags
« on: July 07, 2013, 03:40:32 pm »
Over thre last couple of days me and 2 other members of the server have been searching the nether high and low in every corner of the map looking for newly generated chunks looking for nametags. We found roughly 15 or so different fortresses and not a single nametag , the nether has a map boundry and i believe like the main world it has been fully loaded. what we did find was....... different. We found 61 Water source blocks. spawned from an OP i assume. we have them for safe keeping. take them if you need. But not a single nametag . and i find it very stupid that in a new map on single player you find name tags with in an hour. Takes the nice aspect of adding a name to mobs out of the game. Hashtag sadface.

Suggestions / Horses situation with old map and horse mechanics.
« on: July 04, 2013, 10:50:02 am »
Recently the server was updated to minecraft v.1.6.1 this added Horses and other items to the game. The Horses were not able to found in the wilderness as the map was not a new map and has a border. This means there was no new chunks for the horses to spawn. The dev and Owner added horses spawning at "Easttown" and other town warps. The problem others and I found was the new horses will only spawn in new chunks the same as the nametags and horse armor. if horses have been spawning nobody can keep them , because without a "Nametag" they horses will despawn we found this out the hard way losing 11 horses. A way to get Horses has been added and many others and I believe that nametags should be introduced to the server as soon as possible via shop or other method. Armor personally im not too fussy.

-Thanks for reading!
