General Discussion / A New Bank Has Opened!
« on: July 15, 2015, 10:20:16 pm »
Are you short on money, or need to get some money pronto? Then come on over to the PokeBank! The PokeBank is an in-game bank founded by CaptainWooper and AtomicSpaceMonky to provide monetary services for people like you.
Loans can differ in size, catering towards the amount of in-game money you need. As your server rank increases, so does the maximum amount of money you can loan! For example, if you are a guest looking for a loan, we can lend you a maximum of $3,500. However, if you were a Member, you could loan as much as $10,000!
As with banks in the real world, loans come with interest. In PokeBank, our loans come with a flat interest rate of 6%, no matter how big the loan is. You also have to repay your loan (with interest) within a certain amount of days. For every $1,000 you loaned from PokeBank, you have 5 days to repay us. For instance, if you loaned $2,000, you would get 10 days to repay the loan (again, with interest). This is a great deal, because it takes a mere TWO votes pay for $1,000, excluding interest.
If you were thinking of cheating us out out on money (which you wouldn't, right?), think again! In order to seal the deal and prevent people from borrowing money and not repaying it, we have a prewritten contract that you simply have to write your loan amount and due date in and sign it.
So what are you waiting for? Come on down to the PokeBank ("/ohome Curret court", then turn right) to loan the money you need now!

Hi Andrew!
I recently tried adding your Friend Code to my 3DS, but it said that the code was invalid. Could you have perhaps typed it in wrong?

Yes, that clears up a lot. I never really looked at the shop from a survival viewpoint, always an economical one. Thanks for broadening my perspective.  :)

A few comments, Sure I could make a few comments but no matter what, The shop values need to stay balanced in order to prevent exploitation. It was smart to figure out that using coal and cobble was a more efficient way of selling your coal and cobble(props to that I didn't cop that one), but it will never make money in the shop alone. For example, for a short time on the old map you could buy sand and coal make glass and sell it for a profit. There is no way of profiting from the shop alone at the moment(and it should stay this way). But I 100% agree that the shop can and should be balanced further.

I did mention this in my post that it is not possible to exploit from within the shop alone, and I certainly agree that it should remain balanced. I'm just suggesting that we improve the balance of the shop so that exploitations can't be made outside of the shop as well.

Suggestions / Balancing The Shop Prices
« on: June 17, 2015, 11:06:51 pm »
Recently, a friend and I have found that the shop, while balanced in certain aspects (courtesy of Lissy), can still be craftily used to earn more money than expected. Lissy's main focus was to prevent the exploitation of prices within the shop, thus making it impossible to mash two or more resources that can be bought at the shop and selling it for more. However, there are ways to gain more money by using some of your own resources. For example, instead of selling coal and cobblestone individually, by smelting cobblestone with coal to obtain stone, you can earn more. I suggest that further calculations be made to better balance the pricing. In fact, I believe that Echo_Matty has a few comments on this subject...
