Server News / Top Voters - December, January and February

G'day all!

It's been some time since we've announced the Top Voters, and for this we apologise.
A failure occurred with the tool we use to log votes, resulting in a loss of all vote logs between October, November, and roughly 10 days in December.
I have since implemented a new and much more reliable way of logging votes, so this error should not occur again.

With that being said, here are the top voters for December, January, and February.

However with the new addition of coupons, we are now able to generate a code for you to use whenever you like, on whatever you like.
Please either send me a personal message or alternatively message me on our Discord server and I will send you your coupon asap.

You're right, that was bad wording on my part. The only factors that lead me to believe it could be you was the link you have on Twitter and the matching IP, not the Super Smash Bros. 4 part.

As for the IP ban itself, there's not much I can do unless CBKreme is unbanned.

So originally I had investigated the name "CBKreme" and found you follow this person on Twitter.
This person claims to be a "semi-competitive" Super Smash Bros. 4 player, leading me to believe you could have used an alternative Discord profile with this name as an impersonation.
Keep in mind this assumption was only made after the ban of "CBKreme", not before.

I looked into this further and found that the banned Discord profile "CBKreme" matches that of another "CBKreme" I found on a popular Super Smash Bros. 4 Discord server.

I still however find it very suspicious you share an IP with this person and also have a direct link to them via Twitter.

Hello Anna,

Upon investigation, we have reason to believe you were posting content that violates the DKCraft Rules and Guidelines (DKCraft Website & Discord Rule #4) under the alternative Discord profile "CBKreme".
Due to the design of Discord bans, all Discord profiles under the banned IP will also cease access to the Discord server.

If you would like a break down of how we came to this conclusion, I'd be glad to explain it to you.

It's not that I don't like the idea in principle, I'm aware of the added benefits of a player driven market, I've just yet to discover a clean way of implementing such a thing.
I've visited servers with things like player chest/sign shops and although I can see the potential interest, it can get out of hand and look rather ugly and uninviting.

If I can implement it in a way that fits well, perhaps I'll consider it.

The server has been moved so feel free to connect as usual! There's a few things I thought I'd mention:

- The 3 donation reward plugins DisguiseCraft (Mob Disguise), EchoPet (Pets) and ParticleMenu (Particles) are currently outdated and may take some time to update to our current version.
For the time being I have disabled these plugins and therefore you will lose temporary access to these donation reward features. Apologies for this, I will keep an eye out for updates to these plugins.

- I have added "Polar Bear Spawn Eggs x5" to the "Items" section of the Donation Store.

- There is currently a full render running for the Live Map, it should be done rendering the world in about 30 minutes or so.

- The Minestatus voting site will once again reward you for your vote.

I have tested as much as I could, however it's possible for things to slip through my fingers. If you find any issues please let me know asap.

Server News / Server Scheduled Maintenance [Complete]

Hey guys,

The server will be going down for a few hours at the following date and time: Thursday, July 7, 2016, 6:00 AM (UTC)

I will be moving the server files over to a new host, BisectHosting, who I have used in other circumstances and had nothing but good experiences with.
Furthermore, the server will now be running with 3072MB of ram instead of our current 3584MB. This is a small downgrade which shouldn't impair the server.

All other services such as the forum and Discord will not be affected.

Thanks for taking the time to report these things. With 1.9 having just been released, it's a lot more unstable than the previous versions, so my guess for the lag is that simply more resources are being used by the server than usual. With each update this issue should decrease.

As for the daylight sensor issue, my guess would be that it's a bug with Minecraft/Bukkit however I'd have to look more into this one.
