Hey guys, it's been a while since the announcement of the 1.8 server, so I thought I'd just give a little update on it.

First of all sorry for the lack of updates for both the 1.7 and 1.8 server, I've been a tad busy with some irl things.
Secondly, how are you all enjoying the 1.8 server so far? I'll appreciate any kind of feedback!

Now onto the updates!
- The world border has been extended 500 blocks in each direction, this should give you a little more room to explore.
- We're officially running a permissions plugin now. This means there can be proper groups with different features and perks. With this, we now have a Moderator rank which acts the same way as it does on the 1.7 server.
- You can now be rewarded for voting! Our PMC vote page will reward you with 1 diamond per vote. There is currently no top voter competition for this, but that may change in the future. Head over to the vote page and start voting!

I would like to announce that we are now running an experimental 1.8 server! This is a separate server from our main one, and it's running all the 1.8 features. (If you wish to continue playing a stable and well protected version, you can still access the 1.7 server.)
I highly suggest you read the below information before hopping on, as it contains important things you'll need to know.

Firstly, I can't stress enough that this is only experimental, and the server is unstable and prone to bugs. It will be undergoing many rapid changes, some good changes and some bad, but I assure you these changes will all be made to give you guys the best possible 1.8 experience, within the limits of what I'm working with.

The server is not running Bukkit, Spigot, or any other well known server software. Instead it's running a newly created software called Rainbow. Due to the change in software, Bukkit plugins simply don't function on it, which requires brand new plugins to be created with the Rainbow API. This means our tools such as block logging/rolling back, chest locking, protection stones, and tons of other features do not exist on this server. However the server is running some basic plugins which gives you a few commands to use (they are listed below), as well as basic admin tools such as banning, kicking, teleporting, a form of grief check, and a few other things.
You could look at this 1.8 server as a Vanilla server with some basic plugin features, because it's much closer to Vanilla than a Bukkit server due to lack of features and tools.

You may be wondering how this server ties in with the full server wipe. Although this server is running a new map and new software, this does not count as the full server wipe you all voted on. I simply can't guarantee that the map or anything else won't have problems in the future, so I would much rather wait for a proper software such as Bukkit or Spigot to update before any official full server wipe is made. Not only that, but since I can't provide proper land/block protection, there's a high chance a lot of things will be heavily griefed, and I'm sure no one wants to have a bad fresh start like that.

Since we are now running 2 servers side-by-side, the total cost each month has now increased. We have had a major decrease in donations lately, mostly due to lack of updates to the server and also due to the purge of a lot of donation rewards.
At this time, donations will be extremely appreciated, as I want to be able to keep both servers running for those who choose to play on either one.

Thank you to everyone who voted on the server wipe. Your questions and comments were very appreciated!
The votes are in, and as you may have noticed, the majority of you said yes for the server wipe!

Minecraft 1.8 is right around the corner, Jeb has announced it's release will be within 6 hours from this post. 1.8 brings loads of exciting new features which I'm sure you're anxious to see available on the server.
Since it only seems right, I will be waiting for Minecraft and CraftBukkit to update to 1.8 before wiping the server. Emphasis on and, as we're all aware of the slight delay Bukkit usually has when updating. However in recent Bukkit events, Mojang have taken control over Bukkit to ensure it's update to 1.8.

Because of the wipe, I've increased the vote rewards by x5. This means you will receive 5 vote points and $4000 in-game money for each vote! (This will be reversed after the server wipe)

The point of this thread is fairly straight forward. The server is nearing it's third year towards the end of this year, and since then we've never had a full server wipe.
I have no problem with leaving the server how it is, and I have no problem with giving it a fresh start either, so I'm going to leave it up to the community to vote on this, since it is you guys who use the server.

I'm going to give a bit of information to those who may be freaking out and spamming the "No".
1. All worlds would be available for download after the wipe.
2. The following things will be passed on after the wipe:
- Bans
- Ranks
- Non physical donation rewards. Mob Disguise, Hats, Teleport, Multiple Homes, Donator Membership.

This is open for discussion, so share your thoughts below. Do not pester someone to vote for what you want.
